Natural Breast Augmentation
With rare exception my breast augmentation patients arrive with the request that they want to look ” not too big, not too small, and as natural as possible.” I’m on board. I like my patients to look lovely an believable. I like a result where the patients can dress their figures up or down depending upon the circumstances. Business like when needed. Sensual when desired. The task is not as easy as one might think. Many of my patients come in with preconceived notions based on headless photos and information that is not always correct on what I call ” the very dangerous internet”. There is so much more to natural implant sizing that I can write in one blog. But here are some pearls: Don’t think cup size initially, think person size. Look for a proportion that fits your body, your height your hips. Manufactures all cut their bras differently. An implant that is small may seem appealing to some, but too small can actually look less natural than an implant that fits your frame correctly. When you try on sizers look at your entire torso and hips, not just the breasts. Silicone implants tend to look and feel more natural than saline. I prefer round over teardrop because if they rotate it will make no difference. Round gels take on a teardrop shape under the muscle. Bring different form fitting blouses to your consultation to see how you will look in different situations. Consider the ” bigger disease”. The” gee I just want something, but not too big” changes dramatically within the first six months. It doesn’t make sense but it is very real. Lastly come in as many times as you like before surgery to try on our sizers. The last thing you want to do is make a last minute decision on the day of surgery. Bring photos of examples you like. No one photo will be an exact duplicate
